Program Saves Military, Firefighters, Educators, Peace Officers and Healthcare Workers on Purchase, Sale or Maintenance of Home
Homes for Heroes Opens for Business in Portland Oregon
Portland, Oregon (Grassroots Newswire) August 16, 2011 --
Homes for Heroes announced they are doing business in Portland during a Ribbon Cutting event at the Portland Saturday Market on August 13, 2011. This is remarkable because during a housing market slump, there is an effort to actually stimulate buyer activity. This stimulus is from the private sector in the form of savings provided to the qualified buyer by real estate agents, lenders, insurance agents and more. The savings to a buyer on an average Portland home is about $1500.
Portland City Commissioner, keynote speaker at the Ribbon Cutting, said that "this is an example of how businesses are willing to help our workforce heroes afford to live in the neighborhoods they serve."
Fritz continued telling about the nation's largest hero real estate program by saying "Portland's Firefighters, Peace Officers, Military, Healthcare and Educators make our neighborhoods better places to live and work."
Dan Crider, the Portland Homes for Heroes affiliate, declared that "our doors are open to workforce heroes who are buying, selling or maintaining their homes and who are looking to save significantly in the process."
