Governor Haslam Appoints New Real Estate Commissioner

DiChiara to serve 5 year term

Franklin, TN (Grassroots Newswire) –Governor Bill Haslam recently appointed a new real estate commissioner to a five year term. Janet DiChiara, broker/owner with EXIT Select Realty in Jackson, TN was tapped to replace Carol Tate from Memphis, TN. DiChiara will join 2 other women on the 9 person commission and is the only member who is with an International Franchised Company, EXIT Realty. This perspective will give DiChiara an opportunity to offer a different insight to the commission.

Jean Marie Grumbles, CEO of EXIT MidSouth, which is the region serving Tennessee and Kentucky for EXIT Realty Corp. Janet DiChiara is a very qualified candidate for the position. At the local REALTOR Association level Ms. DiChiara has served 3 terms as President of the Board for the Central West TN Association of REALTORS. She has served on or chaired numerous committees at the local level including MLS, Education, and Professional Standards. She was Rookie of the Year for the Central West TN Association of REALTORS in 1998 and REALTOR of the Year in 2002.

DiChiara has also been an active member of the TN Association of REALTORS having served on multiple committees including Governmental Affairs, Forms, and Nominating. She has served as Division Vice President for the Western Division for TN Association of REALTORS and International Counsel for the TN Association of REALTORS.

She is currently serving as President for TN Real Estate Education Foundation, is a certified coach, and certified state instructor for various courses including Ethics and CORE (required continuing education for REALTORS). She also authored a course for REALTORS on Forms such as Agency, Purchase Contracts, Addenda, etc.

Ms. DiChiara holds her CRS (Certified Residential Specialist), GRI (Graduate REALTOR Institute), ABR (Accredited Buyers Representative) and E-Pro designations.
