Durango, CO (Grassroots Newswire) 5/3/2021 -- John Gillam of EXIT Realty Home & Ranch brokers the sale of the Historic Strater Hotel in downtown Durango, making this one of the largest and most impactful commercial sales in Durango’s history.  After 95 years of ownership, the Barker family has sold the beloved Strater Hotel.  Originally purchased by the Barker family in 1926, the Strater Hotel has become a Durango staple, bringing in visitors from all over the world.

John has been with EXIT Realty for almost 3 years as a Supervising Broker (CO) / Qualifying Broker (NM) at our EXIT Realty Home & Ranch franchise in Durango, Colorado.  He has been a licensed Broker since 2001 and a REALTOR® since 2002.  In addition, John has been highly active across Colorado where he chaired the local MLS Committee for 10 years as well as was a participating board member for a regional MLS for over 6 years.  To his credit, John has received the Distinguished Service Award on two different occasions and last year was awarded the Community Service Award from the Durango Area Association of REALTORS®.

John brings extensive experience working directly with over 40 State REALTOR® Associations, Local REALTOR® Associations, and MLS’s around the United States as an educator, Strategic Planner, and industry business strategy consultant. He has also achieved the Gold Standard Instructor designation, and is currently a DREI Candidate with the National Real Estate Educators Association.
