New EXIT Office Opens in Indian River

EXIT Waterway Realty has opened an office in Indian River in the Bowen Corner complex at the corner of M-68 and Straits Highway. George Chorey, who had previously worked at the Cheboygan EXIT Realty office and prior to that worked for many years in the U.S. Postal Service is the Associate Broker Owner at EXIT Waterway Realty. Lee Anne Scharffe and Lynda Dinner are the other agents in the office. Marcella Massey is the office manager. The office opened in June and Choreys says, "It's been busy. We had several closings this summer."
Before coming to Indian River, Chorey worked in real estate for several years, first as an associate and then as a broker. He said that he's primarily been involved with residential real estate, but has sold commercial property and vacant land. He and his wife have been in Cheboygan for 32 years. Chorey says he knew quite a few people and other real estate people prior to opening the Indian River office and everyone has been welcoming. The real estate market in the Indian River has been good this summer. Chorey said sellers are typically getting offers of 96 percent of their list price. "Anything that's neat, clean and priced right will not stay on the market". Chorey said first-time buyers have been a strong market this summer. "First time buyers have been a good niche for me. I like to help them out". Chorey said EXIT Waterway Realty works with local lenders and the interest rates are currently good.
