Local Real Estate Agent Makes Masks

COVID-19 Pandemic Overwhelms Supply Chains

Colorado Springs, CO (Grassroots Newswire) April 14, 2020 -- For a month Colorado Springs has been part of the statewide "Stay At Home" Health Order that was issued by the Governor in response to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Real Estate Professionals while deemed "essential" in conducting their under contract and closing business have been busy adjusting to the market. Many agents have found in this time ways to give back to their community.

Rhonda Covey, Assocciate Broker with EXIT Realty Mountain View has done just that. She found herself wanting and needing to do something other than listen to the news describe massive shortages of personal protective gear to first responders, doctors and nurses.

"I couldn't stand watching and feeling powerless anymore, so I got out my sewing machine and went to work" says Covey.

To date Rhonda has made 300 personal masks from donated fabric and fabric she purchased. She joined the local Merry Mask Makers Facebook Group and has donated 50 masks to that group. The other 250 masks went to those in need in Colorado Springs, Texas and California, just from people reaching out to her.
