Nashville, Tennessee (Grassroots Newswire) September 20, 2016 -- Realtors at EXIT Realty Elite and London Eller, member of the Nashville Children’s Choir, will make “hugs” and a hot, homemade meal for cancer patients and caregivers on Sunday, September 25^th at the American Cancer Society’s Memorial Foundation Hope Lodge in Nashville.  Hope Lodge is a temporary residence facility that provides housing for patients who have to travel far from home to receive treatments.

London Eller, a very talented 12-year-old and member of the Nashville Children’s Choir, will entertain.  Eller sings regularly for Trevecca University, VA Hospital, and Nashville Sounds events.  Eller just returned from a two-week tour in Canada and Wyoming.  She recently performed at the Mustang Heritage Foundation in Lexington, Virginia.

Shirley Ann Frierson, EXIT Realty Elite Realtor and volunteer organizer for “Hugs, Hope and a Hot Meal” has a long-standing commitment to community involvement.  Every weekend her family members gladly join her in volunteer projects.  This coming weekend Frierson challenges “all Nashville Realtors to lend a hand and continue to provide a hot meal at Hope Lodge every Sunday.  This is such a needed service and worthwhile endeavor.”

Since 2004, The American Cancer Society's Memorial Foundation Lodge in Nashville (otherwise known as Hope Lodge Nashville), Tennessee has offered a solution to cancer patients who must undergo treatments far from home.  The Hope Lodge provides housing free of charge on a first-come, first served basis to cancer patients and their families during their course of treatment.  The lodge not only reduces the financial burden, but also provides a much needed supportive environmental.

Frierson, served as the Senior Policy Advisor to Commissioner Sara Kyle at the Tennessee Regulatory Authority (TRA) from January 1995 – August 2012. Prior to joining the TRA, Ms. Frierson served as a member of Governor Ned McWherter’s personal staff. She was born and raised in Davidson County to Mary Frances Beard and the late LeRoy Beard. She was educated in Nashville Public Schools and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Management and Human Relations from Trevecca Nazarene University. She will graduate with a Masters Degree in Organizational Leadership from Trevecca Nazarene University in December 2013. She is a proud member of The Temple Church in Nashville, Tennessee. She has one daughter, Kenisha, and two granddaughters, Alexis and Alana. She is long active in community service and volunteer work. She is an active participant in the American Cancer Society Making Strides for Breast Cancer and Race for the Cure. She is a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success.
