EXIT Realty Invites the Press and Community to Cornwall for the Dedication of its Latest Corporately Sponsored Habitat for Humanity Build
Ceremony scheduled for January 15th
Cornwall, ON (Grassroots Newswire) – Since August, real estate agents from EXIT Realty offices across Ontario and volunteers from the community at large have come together to help build a new home and provide a fresh start to Cornwall single mom Karen McIntosh and her children, Meagan, 15 and Matthew, 12.
Karen works for the Upper Canada School Board as a Settlement Outreach Worker, helping new immigrants settle into Canada. Meagan goes to St. Joseph High School. Matthew suffers from global delay and autism and resides in a group home in Ottawa from Monday to Friday. Currently there is no facility in our community that can meet his needs. Karen has worked extensively with the local Autism Society and S.D. & G. Development Services with the goal of seeing such a group home open in this area. Their new home includes a fenced yard to provide a safe and protected environment for Matthew.
Karen expressed her gratitude for the help and support she and her family have received from Habitat for Humanity and she has been busy completing the 250 volunteer hours that will serve as a down payment on the house.
The dedication ceremony is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 15th at the site of the home 711 St. Antoine Street, Cornwall, ON http://bit.ly/exithabitatcornwall. The press and community are invited to attend.
