Portland, OR (Grassroots Newswire) Jan. 18, 2011 -- According to the RMLS, home sales in the Portland market were up last month.

"What this means for home sellers is that 1462 sales closed in December...homes are selling.", said Dan Crider, Owner, of EXIT Realty Professionals. "And for homebuyers the mortgage rates are still low with lots of inventory to consider."

December closed sales were up, however, pending sales are less than a month earlier. Home inventory dropped to 7.9 months from 10.2 months in November. Overall, December continued the trend of decreased activity toward the end of the year.
