Kenneth E McCord, better known as simply Ken, was born in Northern California in 1966. Being the oldest one in a family of four siblings, a minute apart from twin brother Ron and followed by Karen and Nancy, Ken always demonstrated outstanding leadership skills.

The dynamic duo of twin boys - Ken and Ron, were still toddlers when their parents decided to relocate to Southern California where they, along with the girls, Karen and Nancy were all raised and formed. During high school, Ken was an important part of his school’s Varsity Swim and Water Polo team, a highlight was helping his team win a bronze medal in the Jr. Olympics held in North Carolina.

Ken began his real estate career at the early age of 18. Being one of the youngest licensees in the State of California and knowing very little about the industry, he was more than determined to do anything it took in order to succeed. It was his interest and eagerness to learn and master the procedures of investing that drove Ken into the world of Real Estate.

As every great legend tells, beginnings aren’t usually easy and Ken’s is no exception. He fondly recalls driving a little VW Rabbit with no air conditioning. In addition, Ken had no friends who could afford to purchase alone – most of them still lived comfortably at home with their parents for that matter. But nevertheless, filled with enthusiasm young Ken decided to focus on people who wanted to sell. Ken fondly remembers landing his first listing, a cute little house in the heart of Orange CA, . Ken sold that listing and it opened a door of full opportunities for Ken.

Filled with thrilling satisfaction and a sense of accomplishment, Ken’s ambition grew larger, triggering him to pursue Professional Real Estate training on his own. Allowing him to grow his business and escalate in the industry making it his turning point. Ken clearly remembers attending one of Tommy Hopkins’ training in Los Angeles, CA and then another dynamic trainer named Mike Ferry. Training that left Ken an ever lasting impact on his business and the way he dealt with clients and the sale of their properties.

Fast forwarding a bit, Ken quickly became the Top Producing agent at Realty World, his former starting firm. Four Years later, Ken moved to Re/Max where he served clients for more than 18 years and was awarded the ‘Hall of Fame’ award for his service of excellence.

In 2007, Ken decided to make the move and leave Re/Max for Exit. Attracted by the company’s unique Marketing Strategy, Retirement Programs, Residual Income and cutting edge Technology offered to Exit agents Ken saw yet again, a whole new world filled of opportunities and possibilities.

Over the years, Ken has participated in all kinds of unique and interesting transactions. His experience includes handling delayed and reverse exchanges, probate sales, bank owned, corporate relocations, corporate owned, leasing, VA, FHA, Conventional, owner financing and short sales.

Much has changed since Ken began his real estate career. When he started there were no computers, cell phones or fax machines. Agents would wear pagers and carry around large MLS books, what a concept…pagers, no email, imagine that?

But although Ken is now 44 and still loves serving his clients, with all the cutting edge technology included, he has noticed that the needs of his clients still remain the same as they were 25 years ago. His love and passion for helping clients achieve their goals brings a personal satisfaction for him and the beauty of it is that each client has their own interesting story to tell.

Today, Ken’s parents are still happily married and living in that same house where he and the rest of his siblings grew up. His brother Ron followed Ken into the Real Estate business after serving the Navy and had a very successful career until he moved to Medellin, Colombia where he now lives. His sisters Karen and Nancy are also licensed to sell Real Estate, hence it’s safe to say that it’s a family affair where Ken is still maintaining those leadership skills he once showed at an early age.
