Barry McMahon to exhibit at EXIT Realty Metro

Exhibit begins March 15, 2012

Minneapolis, MN (Grassroots Newswire) February 27, 2012 -- Environment friendly, contemporary artist Barry McMahon will open his art exhibition at the EXIT Realty Metro's Emerging Artist Gallery. McMahon will be displaying his art in March and April at the Gallery. A public artist opening event is March 15th from 5 to 7 p.m. at the EXIT Office, One Groveland Terrace, Suite 203 in Minneapolis.

McMahon's art is based on a self-imposed effort to minimize his environmental footprint. For an entire year, everything created in his studio was done so out of recycled materials, paint from mural work, wood from installation projects, collage elements including maps recovered after the big San Francisco earthquake of 1989 as well as book jackets, floor plans, and original sketches. Even the glue, screws and nails are surplus materials used in the art.

EXIT Realty encourages the development of a green standard of living. This exhibition of McMahon's work is both an inspiration and a reminder that we can all find a way within our daily lives, to conserve and share responsibility for the preservation of our resources, both natural and manufactured. Part of McMahon's exhibit includes an evolving piece that will continue to grow and change during the exhibit.
