EXIT Emerging Artists Series

Featuring Jane Strauss and Loren Kollmar

Minneapolis, MN (Grassroots Newswire) February 13, 2012 -- Renound photographers, Jane Strauss and Loren Kollmar are exhibiting their very unique works of photography at EXIT Realty Metro. This is the 11^th exhibit in the Emerging Artist Series where EXIT honors local artists and opens their offices to expose their art to the surrounding community. The showing is in the EXIT Realty Metro’s Gallery located at One Groveland Terrace, Suite 203 Minneapolis just south of the Walker Art Gallery. The art will remain on display until March 8th with many pieces available for sale.

Jane Strauss has been interested in art since “forever”! Growing up on the East Coast, Jane first picked up the camera in the late 60’s, and hasn’t put it down since! She has been enamored of graphic arts ever since 15! Jane relocated to the Twin Cities, raised a family worked with community organizations, nonprofits, and in the practice of law, before returning to her first love – art. Jane’s art flows from who she is, a person placed on the autistic spectrum in midlife who sees detail that most miss. She looks at the trees and the forest and sees the geometric shapes between and within them. Jane has captured the talent of portraying this through her photography; her images are sharp, crisp and sigh-inspiring. It is a wonderful gift to be able to see these details and hidden images through Jane’s eyes.

Loren Kollmar states “The world is a visually inspiring place to me.” His photography represents the way he sees the world around him. He rarely stages events, but follows his eye from picture to picture. Kollmar has found that where you are is less important than how you see where you are. His show at EXIT includes photographs from around the world and is featured in black and white format. A native of Minneapolis, Loren continues to build his business, LK Fotography.
