Local Real Estate Agent Rises To The Needs Of The Season

Bend, Oregon (Grassroots Newswire) December 4, 2012 -- Kelli Shanks wants to make a difference this holiday season...and she is asking her neighbors and those in her marketing area to help her - to help others.During this season of giving, there are too many Central Oregon families who do not have enough food to eat. It is hard to imagine for many of us, but so true. So, Kelli Shanks, a real estate broker and consultant with EXIT Realty Bend decided to take action. Her young son and husband liked the idea, and what better example for a child then to give back to the community in which we live, work and play.
Her first stop was to talk to one of her preferred lender partners, Shaun Kent from Landmark Professional Mortgage, also located in Bend. Shaun liked the idea. A family man himself, Shaun agreed to become active in the goal to help hungry families in Central Oregon this holiday season. They knew that it would take some time, a lot of shoe leather and a real commitment.
Together, the two have delivered 500 grocery bags, donated by Albertons, to homes across Bend. They have asked those in receipt of the bags to open their hearts in the spirit of the season to help feed families this holiday season.
The bags have been delivered. A note was attached to each asking for canned goods for those in need, and on Saturday, December 8th, Kelli and Shaun will retrack their footsteps to hopefully pick up hundreds of pounds of food, carefully placed inside the Albertsons gorcery bags for them to pick up!
