EXIT Realty Group Presents First Hero Home Source Check
Newburyport, MA (Grassroots Newswire) July 25, 2013 -- Dan Swift, owner/broker of EXIT Realty Group in Newburyport, and a Benefits Director for Hero Home Source, recently presented a check for $2500 to Bruce and Susan Kimball of Salisbury. As an affiliate of this national nonprofit organization that recognizes law enforcement, fire, military, education, and emergency response personnel and veterans or retirees, Hero Home Source (HHS) enables buyers and sellers in those occupations to receive a rebate on their commission. There are also other benefits, including a donation to a charity of choice.
The Kimballs purchased their first home as a couple, a three-bedroom custom-built expanded Cape, on Corporal Patten Way in Salisbury, where they will live with their “blended” family. Susan Kimball is a first grade teacher at Amesbury Elementary School and Bruce is a recently retired from the U.S. Air Force after serving more than 20 years, making them both eligible for the HHS program.
Susan and Bruce grew up in Maine living next door to each other, where both sets of parents still live. They moved on with their lives and nearly 30 years later in 2011, Bruce took part in a Pease AFB air show and invited friends from his childhood. Susan attended with friends and they rekindled an old friendship which soon became a long-distance relationship.
Bruce served in Afghanistan from April through October of 2012, then Las Vegas, then was relocated to South Carolina. “It was the first time we even lived in the same time zone,” said Bruce, before moving to Salisbury. They were married this past April 7.
Military children are part of their family as well. Susan’s son is now enrolled in the Air National Guard and Bruce’s son is based in Texas in an ROTC program.
Kevin Hunt, Veteran’s Agent for Newburyport, Amesbury, Merrimac, Newbury, and soon Salisbury, was on-hand for the check presentation, held at the EXIT Realty Group office at 44 Merrimac Street.
Susan said there were a lot of issues trying to buy a home, while her husband was still based in Charleston, South Carolina. As she walked out, she said to Swift, “You helped us pull it off. You were a great help. We really thank you!”
Hero Home Source is a division of Fellowship Builders, Inc., a nonprofit organization of professionals who seek and honor distinguished members of their community. The national network oversees a strict code of consumer engagement principles which ensure all first responders, teachers, veterans and retirees of these fields are treated like royalty.
The rebates and discounts are a concrete way of demonstrating immense appreciation for the sacrifice of first responders and their families.
