Local EXIT Realty Metro hosts Heather Allen exhibit opening November 20th

Minneapolis, Minnesota (Grassroots Newswire) November 14, 2013 -- Local Panoramic Architect Artist, Heather Allen is being featured at the EXIT Realty Metro Gallery. Allen’s exhibition marks the twenty-second edition of the Emerging Artist Series, and opens on Wednesday, November 20th. The opening features Allen’s art and an opportunity to meet the artist.  The event includes a free public reception starting 5:30 p.m.

Now based in St Cloud, Allen was raised in Southern Minnesota, by farm fields, Norwegians, television and public school. She gained interest in the arts at a very young age and with the inspiration of her Mother’s drawings of horses. Today she creates visual art to better understand and relate to what is important to her. Heather has a degree in Studio Art from the University of Minnesota, Duluth and has worked for 10 years as a teaching artist and arts administrator. The paintings in this series are examinations of real spaces. The fractured and stretched images attempt to capture the whole of a bedroom, building, or block in a single image. For Allen this work is “about remembering spaces, and experiences within and without them”.

The agency’s Emerging Artist Series began in 2009 when EXIT Realty Metro founder Carson Brooks decided to combine his passion for the arts with his growing business. The aim of the series is to promote and feature area-based artists as well as professional networking at the Artist Opening Event. This event is Co-sponsored by The Clarion Goup, Tax and Accounting Services.
