Bench a Memorial to Teacher, Community Leader Millsap

Stayner, ON (Grassroots Newswire) 4/19/18 -- A new park bench on Main Street in Stayner will be dedicated to the memory of the late Dorothy-Anne Millsap in a ceremony on Thurs., June 19.

The dedication ceremony will take place beginning at 1:30 p.m. at the bench's permanent home in front of EXIT Realty Welcome Home, at 7280 Main St.

The Stayner Heritage Society inviting all who are interested to attend.

Dorothy-Anne (nee Wheeler) Millsap, known to many as D-A, was a citizen, local teacher and founding member of the Heritage Society which formed in February 1998. Millsap died March 7, 2016 at the age of 80.

The Society expressed thanks to all who supported the tribute by the way of a memorial donation.

The bench will sit in front of the building which is known to various generations in Stayner as the Parson building, Jones & Clemence Grocers, Aitkins Bakery, Bob's Bakery, Jac's Health Foods and now EXIT Realty. It will also face the storefront across the street where D-A's family business, Wheeler Insurance, was located for many years.
