EXIT Realty Home Partners Raises $5,000 for Allen Neighborhood Center

Lansing, MI (Grassroots Newswire) 2/16/2021 -- EXIT Realty Home Partners is one of those companies stepping up to make an impact in the Lansing community. Giving back is an important part of the EXIT Realty culture: a portion of every transaction fee collected by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to its charitable fund.  Through the Spirit of EXIT Dollar-for-Dollar Matching Program, EXIT Realty offices and associates can raise money for local charities and apply to EXIT’s head office to have those funds matched from the company’s pledged pool of funds.

That giving spirit definitely flows down to the local level and REALTORS® .  Jonathan Lum, the Broker Owner of EXIT Realty Home Partners and Chairman of the Board for Allen Neighborhood Center, took full advantage of the matching program and challenged his friends through Facebook to donate to the Center instead of giving a gift to him for his birthday. In three weeks, he was able to raise a total of $5,000 for the organization with the matching funds.

“For the past several years, we’ve undertaken a massive effort to redevelop the site of the Allen Neighborhood Center, putting together over $10 Million dollars to create Allen Place, a comprehensive community space that provides 21 units of affordable, accessible housing along with a Federally Qualified Health Clinic, a food cooperative and expanding our commercial kitchen offerings to meet the demand of our food entrepreneurs.” says Mr. Lum proudly, adding “But this has been a tough year for some of our existing programs to adapt to the Covid pandemic. The money we raised here will help support some of our existing programs that are needing investment to adapt to the current situation.”

The Allen Neighborhood Center is a place-based organization that serves as a hub for neighborhood revitalization and for activities that promote the health and well-being of Lansing’s Eastside community and other stakeholders. Mr. Lum has served on the board since 2012 and working with the center has been a passion for him. He shares that it is inspiring for him to have the opportunity to work so closely with Joan Nelson, the Executive Director of Allen Neighborhood Center. “It’s an amazing organization that has pioneered programs in health education and outreach, food security and nutrition education, youth development, and so much more,” he said. “And I love that part of their programming focus is on housing, connecting community members to local resources for down payment assistance, home ownership and home repair resources.”
