AMERICAN RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE

Cool Springs Galleria

Franklin, Tennessee (Grassroots Newswire) June 19, 2013 --The American Red Cross will be holding a blood drive at the Cool Springs Galleria on Monday, June 23rd, from 3:00-7:00 PM.

Among those participating will be the The Grumbles Team of EXIT of the South.  "My uncle is our inspiration," says Mike Grumbles, Associate Broker. Grumbles uncle, Ken Grumbles is currently receiving weekly blood transfusions due to a an illness caused as a side effect from throat cancer treatments.  Ken has a cancer located in his bone marrow which is destroying his blood as it is made. "I am totally transfusion-dependent as a means to prolong my life. Red blood cells have not been a problem but the platelets are usually a day's wait. I am transfused every ten day to two weeks on red blood and closer to a week on platelets," says Ken.
