Local Realtor Gives Back to the Community He SERVES!

Manassas Park, VA (Grassroots Newswire) February 14, 2014 -- Local EXIT Choice Realtor, Jim Hobbs of the Bassette Real Estate Group was able to collect over 280lbs of Peanut Butter & Jelly at his 50th Birthday Bash and donate all of it to SERVE. SERVE is a local non-profit in Manassas that was established in the 1970's and merged with Northern Virginia Family Services in 2009. Together, they provide a number of programs for the poor, including operating a 60-bed shelter, feeding 900 families through their food distribution center, offering transitional housing facilities and giving emergency assistance for families in need.  So when Jim's wife, Peggy, decided to throw a 50th Birthday Bash to celebrate her husband's birthday,  Jim decided in lieu of gifts that he would ask his birthday guests to bring peanut Butter and jelly.  Jim's party was held at the Gathering Room and Event center located in Manassas Park and was headlined by Mojo, a local band with a huge following and was catered by Old Towne Sports Pub!  The event was well attended and a huge success considering the amount of PB & J collected for SERVE!
