NAREB to Host FREE Homebuyer Education Class at Zion Institute

Thousands of Dollars of Down Payment Funds Available & Information Coming To South Phoenix Class

Phoenix, AZ (Grassroots Newswire) 6/14/2023 -- June is national Homeownership Month.  Phoenix Realtist Professional group is the local chapter for NAREB (National Association of Real Estate Brokers) the 75 year old organization that has been fighting for democracy in housing and advocating for increasing Black homeownership and other minorities.  The local Realtist chapter is collaborating with Zion Institute, a long time social services organization that is focused on building lives in the South Phoenix community.  Together we are inviting future homebuyers to attend a free workshop to help answer their many questions. Find out what options are available to finance a home; learn about steps that can be taken to prepare for home ownership and gain the insights that will make home purchase as successful as possible.  We will be providing information for those looking to purchase single family homes (which includes condos, townhomes, duplexes, triplexes and even fourplexes).

"There are thousands of dollars available via multiple down payment assistance programs for Arizona homebuyers that can help individuals get into a home for less money out of pocket than it would take to rent an apartment.  Some programs only require as little as $600 out of pocket!  And we want to help people use these programs to obtain a home," said Laya Gavin, President of local NAREB Chapter and the Designated Broker of EXIT Realty Sun City.  "The gap of ownership between Blacks and Whites is larger today than it was over 50 years ago, and getting bigger.  That needs to change.  We need to open the doors to homeownership sooner within our community in order to start building wealth", said Laya.

Zion Institute in Phoenix has partnered with the local NAREB (National Association of Real Estate Brokers) chapter, Phoenix Realtist Professional Group to bring to our local community free Homebuyer Education Classes. 

We are fortunate to have the resources and platform to reach our community in a time where entry into the housing market is so tough.  The course is led by experienced local real estate & lending professionals and an NID Housing Counselor. The next class will be held on Saturday, June 24th, from 9am-12pm at Zion Institute located at 1522 E Southern Ave., Bldg 2, Phoenix, AZ 85040.
