Bluegrass Performance by the Ringling 5

Great Falls, Montana (Grassroots Newswire) March 19, 2012 -- Western Art Week in Great Falls, Montana!!

Come join the Western Heritage Art Show for some Rural Humor and Bluegrass Country Blend of the Ringling 5 on Friday, March 16th, The Art & Yogo Gala on Saturday, March 17th and The Paint Around on Sunday, March 18th at the Great Falls Holiday Inn!

The Ringling 5 got together in the early 80's singing at local gatherings or whenever someone got a good used pickup. Then they got paid and thought this must be better than raising cattle! They will have a live performance on Friday, March 16th starting at 6 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance and available at Hoglunds and Kaufmans downtown and at Wild Out West in the Holiday Village Mall and at the Lewistown Art Center in Lewistown. Tickets at the door will be $15.

The festivities continue on Saturday, March 17th at 6 p.m. for the Art and Yogo Gala Event. Guests have the opportunity to preview the Live and Silent Auction items. View Montana's Yogo Sapphires and One of a Kind Masterpieces from the Western Heritage Artists. The Event is Hosted by Steve Keller of the Central Montana Radio Network with Auctioneer Ross Fitzgerald of Power to showcase original art by the Western Heritage Artists and Yogo sapphire jewelry. Tickets are $30 each and include Yogo ore from the mine and appetizers.

The beneficiary of proceeds will be the Special Olympics Montana. This event raised approximately $25,000 last year!

Sunday festivities will include The Paint Around, a quick draw event with a twist and live auction. Two or three groups of 5-7 artists begin working on an original piece of artwork they have already prepared, after 10 minutes they move one seat and continue working on their neighbor's piece for 5 minutes. They keep moving from piece to piece until they return to their original piece where they will have 15 minutes to finish it and be ready for auction! Join in the fun on Sunday, March 18th from 1-3 p.m.

Raises Over $18,000 for Lyndsey Tikalsky

Great Falls, Montana (Grassroots Newswire) March 12, 2012 --Here is an update regarding Lyndsey Tikalsky, the Fairfield mom who is undergoing treatment for a brain tumor.

The fund raiser which was held on February 25th at the Black Eagle Community Center, received a wonderful turn out! There are estimates of between 300 to 800 people in the crowd who attended!

The silent auction of donated items specifically for Lyndsey's benefit raised over $18,000.00.

This should help the Tikalsky's with the ongoing treatment and it is reported in the Sun Times that an update from Lyndsey states, "The tumor is next to nothing compared to what it was." Lyndsey continues, "One doctor has said it is a miracle!"

Presently, the Tikalsky's and EXIT Big Sky Realty are proceeding with the sale of the Tikalsky's home in Fairfield and the purchase of a new home in Great Falls.

The raffle tickets for a donated 2010 Bay Quarterhorse are still currently available for $10 each or 5 for $40. The raffle takes place on April 14th at the Missoula Children's Theater Performance at the Greenfield School.

Great Falls, Montana (Grassroots Newswire) February 21, 2012 -- Local Fairfield Mom, family rely on faith to cope with brain surgery earlier this year, Tom and Lyndsey Tikalsky were dealt unfortunate circumstances when Lyndsey was diagnosed with a brain tumor requiring surgery. The tumor in Lyndsey was once a healthy area of brain tissue that turned into a tumor.

During the long surgery, the Physician was only able to remove approximately 45% of the diseased tissue. "He was afraid that if he went after more, it could affect my sight, speech ..or even my life," said Lyndsey.

The couple have two young daughters, Lexy 5, and Andrea 3. "Adults can cope with a change like that," she says. "Children can't." "I recorded a book for my daughters so they would remember my voice." The name of the book she recorded... "How Much I Miss You".

Presently, Lyndsey was discharged and with help from many community supports, the family has continued to move forward. The community has provided meals as well as a fundraiser raffle. The family does not have health insurance and with medical costs, along with Lyndsey's needs during her long recuperation have caused the Tikalsky's to reconsider the home they had planned to retire to. Tom & Lyndsey Tikalsky and EXIT Big Sky Realty are in the process of selling their home in Fairfield as well as buying a new home in Great Falls. Lyndsey will have more testing and an MRI in March to continue treatment. There are several area fundraisers planned for the Tikalskys.

A benefit is planned for February 25th at the Black Eagle Community Center in Black Eagle, MT. The Fairfield Sun Times will provide details as they become available
