Top-Producing Agents Lead Training to Empower Others

Austin, TX (Grassroots Newswire) April 7, 2011 --Last month, EXIT Options Realty hosted a one-day training for agents entitled, “Help! I’m A New Agent! What Do I Do Now?” The training, which took place on Thursday, March 22, was led by EXIT agents and real estate veterans Jim Farrington and Alisha Austin.

Contrary to its name, Farrington said the training was applicable to experienced agents in addition to new ones. The class covered an array of topics, including how to pursue leads from For Sale By Owner properties (or FSBOs), expired listings, cold calling techniques and making the most out of an agent's personal sphere of influence.

According to Farrington, the class was designed to address one of the biggest challenges many real estate agents face in the industry---personal time management.

“Because Realtors® are self-employed, sometimes they forget to treat real estate like a 'real job.' You have to invest the time just like you would if you had to clock in with an employer,” said Farrington, who has worked as an agent in Austin for over 20 years. “I have a core belief in talking to people every day about real estate. It's important to create business through simple, repeatable activities; consistency is key. You have to put into it what you want to get out of it.”

Austin's portion of the course focused on more specific techniques meant to help agents generate business. Her presentation taught them how to create various marketing materials and email campaigns through the use of Promo Shop, a program that is unique to the EXIT franchise.

Although primarily EXIT: Options Realty agents were in attendance, classes in the office are open to agents throughout the city. EXIT: Options Realty has approximately 45 real estate professionals serving the Greater Austin area. The company is owned by Dan and Rose Castro.
