City of Sunrise to hire liaison to the Realtor® community following meeting with RAGFL Government Affairs representatives

David Campbell Broker of EXIT Realty Today is playing an integral part in helping Bridge the working relationships between Realtors and Cities in South Florida

Sunrise, Florida (Grassroots Newswire) Nov 16, 2011 -- The Sunrise City Commission has taken the first step toward adding a necessary new position to its utility billing/accounts operation. Specifically, the person occupying this position will be responsible for functioning as the liaison to the Realtor® community.

This action stemmed from a recent meeting coordinated by the Realtor® Association of Greater Fort Lauderdale’s Government Affairs Department with Sunrise City Manager Bruce Moeller, Commissioner Larry Sofield and Assistant Director of Utilities Richard Salamon. Attending on behalf of RAGFL were Adam Sanders, Director of Government Affairs, Jesse Acevedo, RAGFL Past President and current Florida Realtors® District Vice President, and RAGFL member David Campbell.

Some Realtor® members, including Acevedo and Campbell, had expressed about the process of turning on utilities in Sunrise homes in order to inspect abandoned properties. Many good ideas were discussed during the meeting, and the Sunrise officials were open to exploring changes to make the process easier.

Sunrise officials are also in the process of bringing someone on-board to manage the Home Buyers Assistance Program, their new buyer grant for repairs on foreclosed homes that are owner occupied. These are extremely positive developments for RAGFL members doing business in the City of Sunrise.
