EXIT of Raeford found Christmas Joy
EXIT Realty of Raeford found joy in giving.
Raeford, North Carolina (Grassroots Newswire) 12/22/2011 -- Exit Realty of Raeford would like to thank a local family for allowing us to be a part of their Christmas.
We at Exit Realty of Raeford decided that it would be nice to do something for someone else for Christmas; you know just a way to give back. We started by calling one of our local government agencies to ask what we could do to help. We were told that there are several families in the local area that need help for Christmas so we decided to adopt a family.
Our agents started right away doing what they could to help this family of 5. We were told that there would be a mom, dad and 3 boys ages 9, 6 and 5 that without our help may not have a Christmas. As the day for our gift drop started to approach our office began to look like Santa’s workshop. On the day that we were to deliver our gifts we all met at the office and began to sort and wrap gifts. It was a wonderful feeling and spirits were on high; the agents began to sing and laugh and happiness just filled the air. Santa arrived in full gear along with his elf’s (our agent’s children) to help with our delivery.
As we arrived at the home of our adopted family the front door opened and you could hear little voices saying “it’s Santa”, “Santa is here”, and “Why is Santa here”. Eyes were bright and wide with anticipation and there are not words to describe how beautiful the smiles on those little faces were.
It did not take long before we realized that there was an unexpected problem. There were 4 little faces looking back at Santa not three! Where there were suppose to be 3 little boys stood 3 boys and 1 beautiful little girl about 6 years old. What were we going to do? We had only prepared for boys!
Thinking fast on her feet one Santa’s elf’s (11 yr old Brianna Burnette Daughter of Shannon Burnette) turned to her mom and said “I know you have some of my presents in the car mom, can we give them to her?” Together they found the last gift that had not been taken out of the car and handed it over to Santa for the girl.
As the agents returned to the office the 6 year little girl was still on everyone’s mind. Who was she, where did she come from, why were we not told about her? To our surprise it would not be long until we were to find out that she was a cousin to the boys and also would not be having a Christmas without help from Santa.
With the big heart that she has and the example set in front of her, again one of the elf’s (11 yr old Hope Buck) said to her grandmother (Candilee Quigley, Owner/Broker of Exit Realty of Raeford) “Nana It would be ok with me if we just gave her my presents, I don’t need all that stuff”. With that both Shannon and Candilee set off for another shopping trip and made Santa’s job a little easier for another 6 yr old little girl.
I cannot begin to tell you how wonderful the feeling of giving can be, it is something that you have to experience for yourself. What I can tell you is there is not a price tag that could be put on the smiles of children!
Thank you family for allowing us such joy!
