EXIT Key Real Estate to Sponsor Shapleigh Community Days

Blood Drive and Bone Marrow Scanning, too!

Shapleigh, Maine (Grassroots Newswire) July 15, 2015 -- “With deepest gratitude for more than forty years of support the people of the Town of Shapleigh have shown us, we are pleased to be able to help sponsor COMMUNITY DAYS, as well as the Blood Drive and Bone Marrow Screening event on Saturday, July 25^th,” said Elias Thomas, Broker-Owner of EXIT Key Real Estate.  “I can recall the day we opened our office – April 15, 1970, with one desk, a few chairs and no phones, other than the one in the public pay-phone out in the parking lot!  A lot has transpired over these four-and-a-half decades and we are most grateful to be able to support this event.”

The agency was originally founded by Thomas’ father-in-law, Richard “DUFFY” Leach, in Sanford, back in about 1932.  In 2010 the company, then known as Key Real Estate, Inc., purchased the first EXIT franchise in the State of Maine from EXIT Realty Corp. International, in Toronto, Canada.  “We believe that ours is the oldest real estate agency in the State of Maine, still owned and operated by the founding family.” The office is located at the Foot of Mousam Lake and the “big red key” sign in front has become a landmark over the years.

The agency is proud to be a co-sponsor of the Blood Drive and the Bone Marrow Screening, along with the York County Council of Realtors®.  Greg Gosselin, chairman of the trustees of YCCR, made it one of his priorities of his year as chairman to help to sponsor three separate Blood Drives, with the American Red Cross.  “We sponsored our first Blood Drive in May down in York.  We are pleased to be able to bring the blood drive staff to the outlying communities, and felt Shapleigh was the perfect fit, to go along with their Community Days.  We are pleased that Elias brought this opportunity to our attention,” said Gosselin.
