Sarah Drake Art Featured at EXIT Realty Metro Gallery

Minneapolis, Minnesota (Grassroots Newswire) March 6, 2014 -- Sarah Drake is a visual artist who sees art as an educational tool to engage viewers in critical thinking and expand their comfort zones. With a mixed media medium, Sarah is able to reuse materials as part of  her education on sustainability. Artworks include mostly African and human rights themes that inspire social change. Sales of specific artwork helps fund sustainability projects, including access to clean water and sanitation in Tiebel, Burkina Faso through her ARTS in Action, which she founded in 2011. Sarah has  received numerous awards while exhibiting her works internationally  and has a piece in the permanent collection at the Marina Tsvetaeva Museum and Cultural Center in Moscow.  She has a Master's of Science degree in Social Responsibility and her undergraduate degree focused on Ethnic Studies and Geography, both from SCSU.

This exhibit at the EXIT Realty Metro Gallery is called, "Spaces and Places," and is based on Sarah's travels, which is at the center of her inspiration of life and  art.  Creating these pieces has reconnected memories, skills, and interests she had forgotten. Sarah tried to focus on one medium and master it, but it hasn't worked, so she now allows herself to explore the world around her through various materials while telling a story. As a result, her pieces vary quite a bit, yet people are able to identify her work because they feel her presence.  Stop by the EXIT Realty Metro Gallery located at One Groveland Terrace, Suite 203 in Minneapolis on Thursday March 13th from 5-7:30 pm to view this extraordinary collection presented by Sarah Drake and meet her in person.
