NAREB to Host FREE Homebuyer Education Class at Zion Institute

Bringing Information to South Phoenix Area on Thousands of Dollars Available In Down Payment Assistance

Sun City, AZ (Grassroots Newswire) 06/14/2023 -- June is national Homeownership Month.  The Phoenix Realtist Professional group / NAREB  invites homebuyers to attend a free workshop to help answer their many questions. Find out what options are available to finance a home; learn about steps that can be taken to prepare for home ownership and gain the insights that will make home purchase as successful as possible.  We will be providing information for those looking to purchase single family homes (which includes condos, townhomes, duplexes, triplexes and even fourplexes).

"There are thousands of dollars available via multiple down payment assistance programs for Arizona homebuyers that can help individuals get into a home for less money out of pocket than it would take to rent an apartment.  Some programs only require as little as $600 out of pocket!  And we want to help people use these programs to obtain a home," said Laya Gavin, President of local NAREB Chapter and the Designated Broker of EXIT Realty Sun City.  NAREB’s annual State of Housing in Black America report outlines that in 1930 the homeownership gap between Blacks and Non-Hispanic Whites was 25% and today that gap is even wider.  According to Gavin, the rate of homeownership among Non-Hispanic Whites is 74% and Blacks at 44% (over 30% difference and getting wider as Blacks delay homeownership).

Zion Institute in Phoenix has partnered with the local NAREB (National Association of Real Estate Brokers) chapter, Phoenix Realtist Professional Group to bring to our local community free Homebuyer Education Classes. 

We are fortunate to have the resources and platform to reach our community in a time where entry into the housing market is so tough.  The course is led by experienced local real estate & lending professionals and an NID Housing Counselor. The next class will be held on Saturday, June 24th, from 9am-12pm at Zion Institute located at 1522 E Southern Ave., Bldg 2, Phoenix, AZ 85040.
