Community Food Drive Surpasses Goal, Donates 1,127 Pounds to Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee

Nashville, TN - January 8, 2026 -  A community-wide food drive organized by Elizabeth Lawson successfully collected 1,127 pounds of food for Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee, surpassing its original goal of 1,000 pounds.

The food drive ran from November 15 through December 20 and was made possible through partnerships with several local businesses, including Tennessee Nations Title, Epiphany Chiropractic, Old Hickory Social, EXIT Real Estate Experts, and EXIT Real Estate Experts East. Together, these organizations helped mobilize donations from clients, community members, and local partners throughout the holiday season.

“This was truly a team effort,” said Elizabeth Lawson. “Setting a goal gave us something to rally around, but it was the generosity of our partners and community that made it possible to exceed it. Every pound donated represents real meals for families across Middle Tennessee, especially during a time of year when the need is greatest.”

All donated food was delivered to Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee, which works with a network of partner agencies to provide food assistance to children, families, seniors, and individuals facing food insecurity throughout the region.

Community-led initiatives like this food drive play a vital role in supporting Second Harvest’s mission to feed hungry people and work toward long-term solutions to hunger in Middle Tennessee.

Elizabeth Lawson plans to continue partnering with local businesses to support charitable initiatives that strengthen the community and create lasting impact.
