Kenner EXIT Realty Office Gives Back to the Community

Kenner, Louisiana (Grassroots Newswire) 11/21/2018
-- EXIT Realty NOLA Premiere recently worked with the local community and conducted a clothing drive for Hurricane Michael Relief in Florida.  After experiencing Hurricane Katrina, our community realizes the challenges the Panama City area is experiencing.  Thanks to the efforts of the community, the brokerage was able to fill over 50 large boxes with supplies.

EXIT Realty NOLA Premiere arrived at the Greenhills/Fountain volunteer fire department & community center on Thursday, Nov 15, 2018, with a UHaul truck full of clothes all boxed and labeled for men, women and children, shoes, school supplies, and much more. Kel's office EXIT Realty NOLA Premiere (from Kenner LA) worked for weeks and filled the truck perfect for distribution. The event was coordinated through Amy Putnam and her crew who helped tremendously and continue to support the community. This event was put on by a combined effort from EXIT Realty NOLA Premiere (LA) AND EXIT REALTY AMERICAN (PCB). The school supplies were given to the Bay County School Board to be distributed to both students and teachers. EXIT Realty NOLA Premiere was able to collect over $1,000 in donations which was turned into $700 worth of Home Depot gift cards and $400 worth of Walmart gift cards.

EXIT Realty Corp. International donates $400,000 to support Habitat for Humanity’s response to hurricanes Florence and Michael

Atlanta , GA – EXIT Realty Corp. International, a real estate franchisor with brokerage locations across the U.S. and Canada, today announced its support for Habitat for Humanity’s long-term recovery efforts following hurricanes Florence and Michael with a contribution of $400,000 with $200,000 designated to each response, respectively.

“At EXIT Realty we are a group of professionals dedicated to providing an excellent quality of life for our associates and the communities they serve,” said Tami Bonnell, CEO, EXIT Realty Corp. International. “We are honored to help support Habitat for Humanity’s long-term disaster recovery efforts. Giving back is in our corporate DNA and it is our privilege to contribute.”

Hurricanes Florence and Michael caused widespread destruction from strong winds and severe flooding leaving many without a place to call home. Storms of this nature tend to have the most impact on lower-income populations where they are more prone to flooding, lack insurance coverage and have less means to quickly get back on their feet.

“We are committed to helping storm-affected families with their shelter needs. Local Habitat organizations in the impacted areas have been assisting with debris removal, emergency repairs and damage assessments,” said Julie Laird Davis, vice president of Corporate and Foundation Relations at Habitat for Humanity International. “EXIT Realty’s generous donation to both hurricanes Florence and Michael will allow us to help more families and communities rebuild stronger, more resilient places to call home.”

Habitat has been helping communities in the U.S. and around the world recover from disasters for more than 20 years. Every disaster leaves a unique path of destruction, and Habitat’s recovery varies based on the impact and available resources.

EXIT Realty’s partnership with Habitat began in 2004 when the company sponsored its first Habitat home build in West Palm Beach, Florida. Since then, EXIT Realty has sponsored nearly 20 decent and affordable Habitat homes, participated in the Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project both in the U.S. and Canada, and transformed a community to be more vibrant and safer through neighborhood revitalization. In 2016, EXIT Realty introduced a program to match funds raised by its brokerages and agents to benefit Habitat initiatives in their local communities. A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty is pledged to non-profit organizations.

About Habitat for Humanity
Driven by the vision that everyone needs a decent place to live, Habitat for Humanity began in 1976 as a grassroots effort on a community farm in southern Georgia. The Christian housing organization has since grown to become a leading global nonprofit working in local communities across all 50 states in the U.S. and in more than 70 countries. Families and individuals in need of a hand up partner with Habitat for Humanity to build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. Through financial support, volunteering or adding a voice to support affordable housing, everyone can help families achieve the strength, stability and self-reliance they need to build better lives for themselves. Through shelter, we empower. To learn more, visit habitat.org.
