This exhibition is unique in it is a culmination of the Lake Koronis retreat attendees work.   Attendees of the fall 2015 “Critique Group” painted together with University of Minnesota Professor, David Feinberg and Instructor Peter Lommen.  The group also held critiques throughout the year of the group’s new work.  The attendees known as “The Critique Group” have exhibited at numerous galleries, including the Hopkins Center for the Arts. Artists in this show include:  Beth Andrews; Mary Jo Bartos; Linda Dolan; Lisa Pemrick; Adele Mehta; Marcia McEachron; Bharat Pant; Suzi McArdle; Elizabeth Ruskin-Shanklin; Marjorie Schalles; Hooi Ling Soh; Holly Tappen; and Donna Weispfenning.

Opening Event for Artist Suzanne Beck

Minneapolis, MN (Grassroots Newswire) August 17, 2015 - The 31st Artist Open House is this Thursday, August 20th at Metro Gallery, which is located in the EXIT Realty Metro Offices. Suzann Beck, is the featured portraiture and small item artist for this exhibit.

Beck holds a Fine Arts Degree from Moorhead State University, Moorhead, MN where she studied portraiture with atelier-trained painter Judith Anthony, Plymouth MN and Flemish-technique portraiture with Jeffery Huriaenko, St Paul, MN. A native of Minot, ND, Beck currently teaches portrait painting and drawing classes in her Northeast Minneapolis studio and the Paramount Center for the Visual Arts St Cloud, MN.

While discussing the pieces with Beck, she indicated that a portrait is a success to her when the person enjoying the art wonders, "What is the subject thinking about?", or possibly; "What is their personality like?". Beck believes; "What the sitter brings to the portrait is as essential as the brushstrokes she gets on the canvas. She invites you to look at her portraits and discover the uniqueness that she discovered in her subjects while painting their portraits.

Minneapolis, Minnesota (Grassroots Newswire) May 6, 2013 -- EXIT Realty Metro is proud to host Kay Christianson as the 19^th exhibit in the Emerging Artist Series where EXIT honors local artists and opens their offices to expose this art to the surrounding community.

Kay Christianson served for over 30 years in high level executive management at Minnesota corporations and nonprofits, including NCS/Pearson, LearningByte International, and Children’s Cancer Research Fund.  Throughout her years of employment, her love of photography was always a vital part of her life.  From the early days of having her own darkroom and working with black and white images to her current work with digital photography, Kay’s work has always been inspired by nature.

Barry McMahon Art Exhibit Extended at EXIT Realty Metro

Open House set for May 22 from 5-8 pm

Minneapolis, MN (Grassroots Newswire) May 11, 2012 -- Environment friendly, contemporary artist, Barry McMahon has been asked to extend his art exhibit at the EXIT Realty Metro's Emerging Artist Gallery. McMahon opened his exhibit March 15 and has extended the showing until the first week in June.  A public artist opening event is May 22nd at the EXIT Office located at One Groveland Terrace, Suite 203 in Minneapolis from 5-8 p.m.

McMahon'sart is based on a self-imposed effort to minimize his environmental footprint. For an entire year, everything created in his studio was done so out of recycled materials, paint from mural work, wood from installation projects, collage elements including maps recovered after the big San Francisco earthquake of 1989 as well as book jackets, floor plans, and original sketches. Even the glue, screws and nails are surplus materials used in the art.

EXIT Realty encourages the development of a green standard of living. This exhibition of McMahon's work is both an inspiration and a reminder that we can all find a way within our lives, to conserve and share responsibility for the preseration of our resources, both natural and manufactured.  Part of McMahon's exhibit includes an evolving piece that will continue to grown and change during the exhibit.
