Local Business Owners Receive Big Recognition

Charlottetown, PE – They may be located in one of Canada’s smallest provinces, but Broker/Owner, Steve Yoston and his wife, Carol O’Hanley who co-own EXIT Realty PEI are big on making a memorable impression in their market.

Yoston and O’Hanley recently accepted one of EXIT Realty Corp. International’s highest honours, the Broker of the Year Award for Canada, acknowledging their continued commitment to and role in expanding and strengthening EXIT’s brand along the east coast and across their province through their three office locations in Charlottetown, Summerside, and Montague, PE.

“Carol and Steve have grown EXIT Realty across PEI with grace and professionalism at every turn. They have attracted, trained, and supported some of the very best in the industry, providing their agents with wonderful working environments, first-class events, and opportunities to develop to their full potential. We are very proud of them, their administration and the real estate professionals that call EXIT Realty PEI home,” said Joyce Paron, EXIT’s Canadian CEO, proudly.

She, along with Founder and Chairman, Steve Morris, as well as Co-Chair, Tami Bonnell, and U.S. CEO, Craig Witt, were in the room for the highly anticipated awards ceremony, which was just one of several highlights amidst EXIT’s 2024 convention held at the prestigious Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center in Kissimmee, FL, where Yoston also received a Silver Award in recognition of 50+  real estate transactions closed in the corporation’s production year, which runs July 12023 to June 30, 2024.

Since taking over the Charlottetown office in 2015, this husband-and-wife team has been dedicated to superior branding and marketing, especially through their active YouTube channel where they not only showcase clients’ listings, but also provide a behind the scenes look at what makes their offices and agents tick, as well as collaborate with local organizations through their Chatting with Charities sessions.

EXIT Realty PEI Hosts FREE Public Information Sessions

Charlottetown, PE (Grassroots Newswire) Jan. 23, 2020
-- EXIT Realty PEI is offering free information sessions throughout 2020.

EXIT Realty PEI just wrapped up their first of many FREE public information sessions this week. While EXIT Realty is a real estate company, this evening had nothing to do with real estate, but instead focused on nutrition, health and goal setting for 2020. Special guests were fitness instructor, Bernadette Currie from FitLifePEI and life coach, JulieAnn Gauthier. This was the first of a series of events EXIT has planned for the New Year. In addition to real estate related sessions, they will also hold a variety on non-real estate sessions – all free to the public.

Co-owner and Office Manager, Carol O’Hanley says: “We have this beautiful new building with a large parking lot and an expansive training room, and we want to utilize it to serve the public in whatever way we can.”  O’Hanley and her husband, Steve Yoston have owned EXIT Realty PEI since 2015 and after growing the business and outgrowing the leased space they had, a new building was their natural next step. O’Hanley and Yoston moved into their newly built space in April of 2019 and are enjoying the large 6000 square feet they and their agents now occupy.

While the company has offered real estate related sessions in the past, O’Hanley wanted to open up the space for other purposes. She has extended invitations to the community to see if people are looking for an opportunity to share information in front of an audience. EXIT Realty PEI provides the space to the presenter which holds approximately 40 people and promotes each session. The sessions are all FREE to the public.

O’Hanley has a tentative schedule lined up for the upcoming year. On February 12th at 7:00 PM, a representative from the Community Legal Information Association will visit EXIT Realty PEI to talk about Renter’s Rights and Responsibilities. In March, there will be two real estate related sessions, a Career Night on March 11th and a Buyer’s Session on March 24th. Additional planned sessions include: Social Media and Marketing for Small Businesses, Styling Session for Spring, Photography Tips for Beginners and many more!

“It’s a great opportunity for people to get out of the house, meet people and learn something new”, says O’Hanley,” we are delighted to be able to provide that for the general public.” O’Hanley has her Certificate in Adult Education so educating people is one of her passions. She is also offering free tutoring sessions to anyone taking the pre-licensing real estate course. O’Hanley taught this course on several occasions in the past and loved it, so she is happy to help anyone embarking on this journey as they go through the material.

For more information on any of these upcoming free sessions, you can contact Carol O’Hanley at carol@exitrealtypei.com

Charlottetown , PE – Habitat for Humanity PEI has a 3-year project to build 25 homes, five of which will be built in 2019 in Harrington, Charlottetown and Lennox Island.  Companies can participate by “adopting” a build day and volunteering on site.  EXIT Realty PEI has adopted Saturday, September 21st when twelve staff and sales representatives will swing hammers at the Charlottetown build site.

EXIT Realty PEI is part of the EXIT Realty Corp. International family of independently owned and operated franchise brokerages. A portion of every transaction fee collected by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to its charitable fund.  Through the Spirit of EXIT Dollar-for-Dollar Matching Program, EXIT offices and associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to EXIT’s head office to have those funds matched from the company’s pledged pool of funds.  EXIT’s head office has committed to match the sponsorship funds required for EXIT Realty PEI’s participation on their build day, for a total expected donation to Habitat for Humanity PEI of $2,500.

“Many of our Associates, like those at EXIT Realty PEI, work tirelessly to raise funds for charity in their communities. Thinking outside the box

Brokerage implements new office concept

Charlottetown, PE (Grassroots Newswire) November 17, 2015 -- No-one has an office – yet everyone has an office! That’s the forward thinking, “outside the box” concept created by Steve Yoston and Carol O’Hanley, new owners of EXIT Realty PEI here in Charlottetown, PEI.

When Yoston and O’Hanley took ownership of the brokerage, it didn’t take them long to realize they would soon run out of office space as new salespeople joined their company. “EXIT focuses on growth and in order to build our team, we knew we needed to make some changes,” says Yoston.

It was Yoston who came up with the idea to take away assigned offices. Knowing this bold move may cause some upset, he decided to provide top of the line furniture and professional décor in each office to make them attractive to his team. The building was completely emptied of all furniture and brand new furniture was brought in to replace the old.

The building is now made up of 12 offices, two meeting rooms, a training room which replaces the board room (training sessions are held every Tuesday and Thursday mornings), an office manager’s office and administrator’s office. The hallway is lined with filing cabinets with a drawer assigned to each salesperson. Now on a typical day, a salesperson comes in to the office, goes to his filing drawer, retrieves the files he needs and then chooses an empty office to work from.

This concept allows a better use of the space and will house many more salespeople than it did originally. “Since the job of a REALTOR involves being out and about a lot, many of the assigned offices were only being used 1/3 of the time,” says O’Hanley.  “The rest of the time, those offices would sit empty while some of our other salespeople would be without office space.”

That problem won’t occur now. It’s not often there will be 12 offices utilized and all salespeople, whether they are brand new or veteran agents, will have a clean, professional, tastefully decorated office to work from. This also reinforces the team environment EXIT fosters as each person is on the same level. Even Yoston himself follows this model and can be found in any one of the offices in the building as he is not assigned an office either.

The brokerage invites the public to visit their new office space and see the concept in action. They are opening their doors on Friday, November 27th from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm. You can stop in at any time that day to have the co-owners or a salesperson show you around.

A Family Affair

Husband and wife team buy local EXIT brokerage

Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island (Grassroots Newswire) September 4, 2015 --Steve Yoston and Carol O’Hanley have recently rejoined as a real estate team to purchase the local EXIT franchise here on PEI. Steve was the top real estate salesperson on PEI for 2014 (**according to the PEIREA and MLS Statistics from Jan 1 - Dec 31st 2014**)  and Carol has spent the last few years teaching and obtaining her Certificate in Adult Education from UPEI and Holland College. The couple feels their combination of skills will help build EXIT Realty to one of the top brokerages on the Island.

Steve and Carol live in the Charlottetown area with their two sons, Taylor and Jack. Having a family themselves helps them understand the challenge of blending work and family that their clients may face as well as their agents.

“Becoming a broker seemed like the natural progression to my career,” states Yoston, “and bringing Carol on board as office manager to help train agents in our company would fill a void often felt in this industry.” The couple plan to offer a wide variety of training opportunities to salespeople and build a team oriented environment within their office.

Steve has 15 years’ experience in the real estate industry and has garnered the respect of all those he has worked with over that time. Carol has taught the pre-licensing real estate course multiple times which is an 80 hour course new salespeople must take before entering the industry. They are both dedicated to helping people be successful in their real estate careers.

“I like that EXIT puts the focus on the salespeople because they are essentially what makes the company a success.” says O’Hanley.

The husband and wife team are excited to embark on this new journey and hope to revolutionize the way real estate is handled here on PEI. You can follow their company on Facebook: (EXIT Realty PEI) or on Twitter (@EXITRealtyPEI) or you can visit their website at exitrealtypei.com.

Their eagerness to get started is evident as Yoston states: “We are excited to begin work with our current team of salespeople as well as all existing brokerages here on PEI.”

About the Company: EXIT Realty is revolutionizing the real estate industry with our three dimensional concept of taking listings, making sales and sponsoring. Now you can EXIT conventional real estate and open the door to unlimited income potential by using the EXIT Formula’s single-level residual system.
