Local Business Owners Receive Big Recognition

Charlottetown, PE – They may be located in one of Canada’s smallest provinces, but Broker/Owner, Steve Yoston and his wife, Carol O’Hanley who co-own EXIT Realty PEI are big on making a memorable impression in their market.
 
Yoston and O’Hanley recently accepted one of EXIT Realty Corp. International’s highest honours, the Broker of the Year Award for Canada, acknowledging their continued commitment to and role in expanding and strengthening EXIT’s brand along the east coast and across their province through their three office locations in Charlottetown, Summerside, and Montague, PE.

Regions of the Year Recognized by EXIT Realty Corp. International

 

Anaheim , CA – EXIT Realty is home to thousands of real estate professionals across the U.S. and Canada and recently the corporate head office recognized the outstanding achievement of its champions during an awards ceremony at the Disneyland® Hotel in Anaheim, California.  The ceremony was a highlight of the company’s annual convention presided over by EXIT Realty Corp. International Founder and Chairman, Steve Morris, and Co-Chair, Tami Bonnell.
 
A highlight of the event is the recognition of Region of the Year which honors the individuals who shape the future of the company across entire states by identifying and mentoring real estate brokerage owners. This year three such regions received the award: EXIT Realty Upper Midwest, EXIT Realty of Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi and Oklahoma, and EXIT Southeast.
 
EXIT Realty Upper Midwest is led by Regional Owner, Bill Pankonin, a second-generation real estate professional who works closely with his son, Cade Pankonin.  They recently expanded their leadership to include six additional states, welcoming Colorado, Indiana, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and Wyoming to the EXIT Realty Midwest family of Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, North Dakota, South Dakota, Illinois, and Michigan.  The region was also recognized for achieving the third highest franchise sales in the company.

EXIT Southeast is led by veteran real estate professionals, Kenny Lynn and Stacy Strobl.  Starting their regional ownership journey in Tennessee in 2013, their empire now also includes Kentucky, Georgia, Florida and Texas.  This driven and dynamic team achieved the #1 ranking for franchise sales across the U.S. and Canada.

– Bill Pankonin, Regional Owner of EXIT Realty Upper Midwest, has expanded his leadership to include Colorado, Indiana, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and Wyoming, according to an announcement made recently by EXIT Realty Corp. International’s Co-Chair, Tami Bonnell.
 
Pankonin’s EXIT Realty Upper Midwest comprising Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, North Dakota, South Dakota, Illinois, and Michigan is currently home to more than 100 brokerages.  The new expansion means that some of EXIT’s top offices will now also benefit from Pankonin’s mentorship and years of experience.
 
The region’s dynamic leadership team includes Bill and his son, Cade Pankonin, Chief Financial Officer and Regional Director.  EXIT Realty Upper Midwest has been named Region of the Year for EXIT twice.

The conference was held at The Mayflower Hotel in Washington, DC and addressed topics such as the state of the economy, current housing policy and staying current as the industry evolves.
 
Mr. Domathoti was recognized as a RISMedia 2023 Newsmaker in the Achiever category. Mrs. Bonnell addressed the gathering on the subject of leading through changing times.  “Our industry is going through a shift. We’re seeing that the companies which were led transactionally are struggling, while the compassionate, transformational companies are doing well,” she said.  “To me, leading with compassion and creating a people-first culture is a key differentiator between a transformational business and a transactional one.”
 
Ongoing affordability challenges are persistently restraining market activity in the Bronx and surrounding areas, resulting in a state of inertia for both buyers and sellers. This situation is primarily driven by the volatile fluctuations in mortgage interest rates, which have seen a significant increase compared to the same period last year.
 
As a consequence, prospective buyers are hesitant to enter the market. The combination of elevated property prices and the burden of higher borrowing costs has deterred them from taking action. This, in turn, has led to a noticeable decline in existing-home sales.
 
Simultaneously, a substantial number of potential sellers, who currently enjoy low-rate mortgages, have opted to delay their selling decisions. They are holding out in the hopes that market conditions will improve in the future.
 
This collective delay in selling is further intensifying an already constrained supply of available homes, which is subsequently driving property prices even higher.

For the third time, the Dooleys and Director of Operations, Franke Joehl, were awarded Region of the Year in 2022, recognized for exceptional growth and development in an area with a population greater than seven million. 
 
The Dooleys both have backgrounds with the world’s largest retailer, Walmart, and were mentored by founder, Sam Walton.  Mr. Dooley excelled in multi-unit management and Mrs. Dooley in managing 13 stores plus a region that produced over one billion dollars in sales.  Mrs. Dooley joined EXIT in 2010 as a salesperson and quickly advanced to regional ownership, joined by Mr. Dooley in 2012, the year they acquired the subfranchisor rights to Mississippi.
 
In 2016 they achieved their first Region of the Year recognition and acquired the rights to Alabama in 2017.  Now having expanded EXIT’s footprint to almost 60 markets across both states, they are including Arkansas and Oklahoma in their overall strategy for aggressive growth.

EXIT Realty Pays More Than a Million Dollars to REALTORS' Loved Ones

– Why would a real estate company pay more than a million dollars to the loved ones of its sales force?  In traditional real estate, there is no provision for an agent to build a legacy to leave for their loved ones should something happen to them.  But then, EXIT isn’t traditional real estate.

EXIT Realty’s Charitable Giving Tops $7 Million

 

Mississauga, ON – Tami Bonnell, Co-Chair of EXIT Realty Corp. International, today announced that the company’s allocation to its charitable fund has exceeded $7 million.
 
“Giving back has been what we do since the company’s inception almost twenty-six years ago,” said Bonnell.  “It’s part of our business model and it’s ingrained in the hearts of our associates.”
 
A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp. International is allocated to its charitable fund.  Beginning with a partnership with Habitat for Humanity and extending in 2017 to benefit other qualifying non-profits, the company’s philanthropy continues to spread. With the Spirit of EXIT Dollar-for-Dollar Matching Program, EXIT associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to have those funds matched from the company’s pool of funds.
 
Mountain Hope Good Shepherd Clinic is only one of dozens of non-profits receiving support from the Spirit of EXIT this year.  Located in Sevier County, Tennessee, the clinic provides primary medical care, basic dental care, medication assistance programs, and behavioral healthcare.  “This charity is one that I have personally volunteered for as a PA assistant. They serve over 28,000 people who have no medical insurance. They serve some of the poorest in our area,” says Jerry Sandifer, Franchisee of EXIT Tennessee Realty Pros in Sevierville, TN.  EXIT’s head office was proud to match EXIT Tennessee Realty Pros’ sponsorship of the clinic’s Swingin’ for Hope golf event held this spring for a total donation of $10,000 to Mountain Hope Good Shepherd Clinic.
 
When Jennifer Britain’s son, Ethan, lost his sight, Pepper the guide dog entered their lives and the needs of others who require guide dogs came into focus.  “The CNIB Foundation is currently at a critical point in the development of their program and is in urgent need of Canadian born and trained guide dogs. I can personally attest to how impactful the receipt of a guide dog was for my son, from independence to companionship, his life is forever changed for the better,” she said.  For the second year in a row, Britain, the Administrator at EXIT Realty Matrix, Brokerage, in Ottawa, Ontario, rallied a team to participate in the CNIB’s “Pup Crawl” walk to raise money, coinciding with International Guide Dog Day.  They hoped to raise $3,000 which EXIT’s head office was proud to match, but they far exceeded their goal, coming in at $10,760.50 for a total donation to CNIB of $13,076,50.
 
“Our associates work hard to support the causes that speak to their heart.  Our Spirit of EXIT program matches fundraising initiatives benefiting medical research, community support such as food banks and shelters, children’s charities, animal welfare and more,” said Bonnell.  “We are proud to support them in their work.”
