This free, family-friendly event will feature over 24 local vendors, food trucks, live entertainment, HUGE raffle giveaways, and a special Veterans Tribute Ceremony.

$8 Million in Charitable Support Helps EXIT Realty Give Back to Local Communities

EXIT Realty’s Charitable Giving Tops $7 Million

 

Mississauga, ON – Tami Bonnell, Co-Chair of EXIT Realty Corp. International, today announced that the company’s allocation to its charitable fund has exceeded $7 million.
 
“Giving back has been what we do since the company’s inception almost twenty-six years ago,” said Bonnell.  “It’s part of our business model and it’s ingrained in the hearts of our associates.”
 
A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp. International is allocated to its charitable fund.  Beginning with a partnership with Habitat for Humanity and extending in 2017 to benefit other qualifying non-profits, the company’s philanthropy continues to spread. With the Spirit of EXIT Dollar-for-Dollar Matching Program, EXIT associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to have those funds matched from the company’s pool of funds.
 
Mountain Hope Good Shepherd Clinic is only one of dozens of non-profits receiving support from the Spirit of EXIT this year.  Located in Sevier County, Tennessee, the clinic provides primary medical care, basic dental care, medication assistance programs, and behavioral healthcare.  “This charity is one that I have personally volunteered for as a PA assistant. They serve over 28,000 people who have no medical insurance. They serve some of the poorest in our area,” says Jerry Sandifer, Franchisee of EXIT Tennessee Realty Pros in Sevierville, TN.  EXIT’s head office was proud to match EXIT Tennessee Realty Pros’ sponsorship of the clinic’s Swingin’ for Hope golf event held this spring for a total donation of $10,000 to Mountain Hope Good Shepherd Clinic.
 
When Jennifer Britain’s son, Ethan, lost his sight, Pepper the guide dog entered their lives and the needs of others who require guide dogs came into focus.  “The CNIB Foundation is currently at a critical point in the development of their program and is in urgent need of Canadian born and trained guide dogs. I can personally attest to how impactful the receipt of a guide dog was for my son, from independence to companionship, his life is forever changed for the better,” she said.  For the second year in a row, Britain, the Administrator at EXIT Realty Matrix, Brokerage, in Ottawa, Ontario, rallied a team to participate in the CNIB’s “Pup Crawl” walk to raise money, coinciding with International Guide Dog Day.  They hoped to raise $3,000 which EXIT’s head office was proud to match, but they far exceeded their goal, coming in at $10,760.50 for a total donation to CNIB of $13,076,50.

That giving spirit definitely flows down to the local level and REALTORS® .  Jonathan Lum, the Broker Owner of EXIT Realty Home Partners and Chairman of the Board for Allen Neighborhood Center, took full advantage of the matching program and challenged his friends through Facebook to donate to the Center instead of giving a gift to him for his birthday. In three weeks, he was able to raise a total of $5,000 for the organization with the matching funds.

Kodak, TN (Grassroots Newswire) December 3, 2020 -- In gratitude for the support shown to EXIT Realty of the Smokies by the local community, the real estate brokerage recently started a donation drive called the "Heart Start" Initiative for the Northview Volunteer Fire Department.

Diane Farr, Broker/Owner and Tracy Manning-Willis, Broker at EXIT Realty of the Smokies in Kodak are neighbors to the Northview Volunteer Fire Department, and wanted to find a way to help them. Being neighbors, literally next door to our office, meant that every emergency call they go out on, we would hear the sirens and see the lights, and we know that people's lives depend on them to respond quickly and have the equipment necessary to do so. We have chosen the NVFD not only because we do live in the Kodak community, but we also know how important they are and we should be doing whatever we can to support them in their efforts to save lives. The "Heart Start" Initiative will run from Dec 1st through Dec 31st to raise money for 5 Heart Start FRx-AED (Defibrillators) so that the NVFD can equip all their engines, and their first response vehicles. Our goal is to reach $5,000 within the month of December. With the "Spirit of EXIT" Dollar for Dollar Matching program, Realty Corp. International will match the money raised and donated by EXIT Associates to a maximum of $5,00.00 by December 31, 2020. Mississauga, ON – Communities across the U.S. and Canada will see a further bump in support as the funds pledged by EXIT Realty Corp. International to support local charities reach $6 million.  This announcement was made recently by the company’s Founder and Chairman, Steve Morris, during an awards event broadcast across North America.    

A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to its charitable fund. Through the Spirit of EXIT Dollar-for-Dollar Matching Program, EXIT offices and associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to EXIT’s head office to have those funds matched from the company’s pledged pool of funds.
 
In this year of “business as unusual”, charitable organizations have had to pivot.  For example, many children rely on school lunch programs every day and when schools were closed at the beginning of the stay-at-home order, communities scrambled to find alternatives.  In Horry County, South Carolina, several school employees helping to prepare free, drive-through lunches to meet this need tested positive for COVID-19, so the program was closed.
 
Help 4 Kids was the organization driving this initiative.  Help 4 Kids began in 2004 when, with help from teachers and school administrators to identify children in need, they distributed 300 backpacks filled with nutritious, child friendly, self-serve food. Today, this organization serves more than 3,000 food packs per week to the children of Horry County. The program closure due to the pandemic put an additional strain on Help 4 Kids as they were unable to hold their traditional fundraisers.
 
Enter EXIT Coastal Real Estate Pros. Broker/Owner, MaryAnne Dorio, and her team of real estate professionals were determined to support the good work of Help 4 Kids and they reached out to the Spirit of EXIT Program for help. Dorio and her team sounded a call-to-action to their past and present clients and the community at large to raise funds with a goal of $5,000 in mind which EXIT Realty Corp. International was proud to match.  In fact, they exceeded their expectations resulting in a total donation to Help 4 Kids of $10,606.01.

Sarnia, ON (Grassroots Newswire) June 1st, 2020 -- The real estate professionals at EXIT Realty Twin Bridges, Brokerage, recently participated in an isolation fitness challenge in support of local charity.

Agents donated money for the opportunity to compete in support of their chosen charity in a variety of fitness-related activities and the brokerage bumped their efforts to $1,000.  Over the course of four weeks, the challenge coordinator, sales representative, Darrell Skolly, challenged participants in a series of fun walks and runs.  The winner was determined in a point system based on participation and time.

Charlottetown , PE – Habitat for Humanity PEI has a 3-year project to build 25 homes, five of which will be built in 2019 in Harrington, Charlottetown and Lennox Island.  Companies can participate by “adopting” a build day and volunteering on site.  EXIT Realty PEI has adopted Saturday, September 21st when twelve staff and sales representatives will swing hammers at the Charlottetown build site.

International today announced that it has committed to match the funds raised by William Anthony (Tony) Dean and Robert Schwendel, sales representatives with EXIT Realty Premier, in benefit of Pink Cans 4 Cancer during their 8th Annual fundraiser to be held at the Nutty Irishman in Farmingdale on Monday, September 23, 2019.

EXIT Realty Premier in Massapequa Park, New York, is part of the EXIT Realty New York Metro and EXIT Realty Corp. International family of independently owned and operated franchise brokerages. Pink Cans 4 Cancer is a non-profit organization founded by Dean and Schwendel, that places pink bins in businesses, gyms, schools, concert venues, restaurants and homes to collect cans which are cashed in at recycling facilities.  The money raised benefits breast cancer awareness all year round.

“Last year’s event had an amazing turnout.  We had over 175 people attend the fundraiser and we raised over $40,000 because of the Spirit of EXIT Program,” said Schwendel.  “From the money we raised at last year's fundraiser we will be able to purchase a second vehicle and place 20 more bins in Long Island and Queens, doubling our impact.”

Dean’s involvement in this initiative was inspired by his friend, Kristen Martinez, who lost her battle with cancer in 2010. “I think she’d be proud of what we’ve done,” said Dean.  “She made her mark, she inspired change and she left her legacy.”

Non-profit organizations that have benefited from the Spirit of EXIT program include those supporting the victims of domestic violence, food banks, veterans’ charities and relief funds, cancer research, Habitat for Humanity, animal welfare organizations, and many more. In one fundraising effort, Vicki Shoemaker Cloud, Broker/Owner of EXIT Realty Pros in Manassas, Virginia and member of the Board of Trustees for CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children), spearheaded a group that raised $9,295, which the Spirit of EXIT program matched for a total donation to CASA of $18,590.

“These funds will be used to recruit, train, and supervise a total of six new volunteer court-appointed special advocates for one full year. Six new advocates have the ability to serve more than 24 families and up to 100 children in one year,” said Cloud. “It goes beyond words how grateful we are to receive the matching funds donation to help these amazing children.”

Annual Backpacks for Kids Drive Gathers School Supplies for Needy Children

Chicaog, IL (Grassroots Newswire) July 30th, 2014 -- EXIT Strategy Realty is partnering up with Catholic Charities West Suburban for their annual Backpacks for Kids Drive.  The drive helps get backpacks filled with vital school supplies to needy children.

EXIT Strategy Realty is an official drop-off point for the supplies, and all supplies can be brought to their offices at 2235 W North Ave between 9 am and 5 pm until the end of the day August 4th.  There are free parking and loading zones on North Ave.
